Singers interested in the Joint MDA Choir will meet at 8:30 AM on Sunday, July 26, in the downstairs Odeon choir room At First Plymouth Church UCC. Here is the music for “The Day Is Coming“.

There are many ways you may help make this a true community event and what’s a Sunday morning without a few tasty treats! Would you be willing to bring goodies to share after worship? Goodies like: crackers and cheese, veggies and dip, fruit, or sweets. Please remember our gluten free brothers and sisters. In hopes of having a variety of offerings, please contact Kay Grice at kay.e.grice@gmail.com or text 307-448-0164. Please leave your name, church, and contact info. Being together as a larger community is such a treat and your participation is greatly appreciated.

The offering at this service will be equally distributed between the Metropolitan Denver Association and Casa de Paz. (casadepazcolorado.org)

Casa de Paz (House of Peace) offers peace in the midst of chaos believing in the inherent worth, dignity, and respect of all human beings. Every Monday through Friday people are released from the immigrant detention center in Aurora, CO. Upon their release, they are met by the Casa de Paz team with a warm welcome; a hot meal; a safe, temporary space where they can connect with their loved ones and make travel arrangements to their final destination; telephone, computer, and WIFI access; clothing and backpacks; personal hygiene products; and transportation to the airport or bus station. Since its founding in 2012, Casa de Paz has hosted over 20,000 guests from over 82 countries.

Casa volunteers also visit men, women, and trans individuals in immigrant detention who may not have a loved one nearby. And volunteers write Cartas de Paz, letters offering hope to people in immigrant detention who often feel alone and forgotten.
