Fellowship Groups & Clubs

Book Clubs

First Plymouth has two women’s book groups. In both groups, books are chosen from among participants’ recommendations on an annual basis. Genres include contemporary and classic works, both fiction and non-fiction. Participants take turns leading the discussion. You are welcome to join either group.

The Poetry and Prayers group meets every Monday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM via Zoom to read and discuss a variety of great poetry, with poems by David Whyte, Toni Morrison, Joy Harjo, Mary Oliver, and others. One of our favorite books is Poetry of Presence: An Anthology of Mindfulness Poems, a collection of poetry that provides a refuge of quiet clarity very much needed in today’s restless, chaotic world. Women's Groups

Members, friends, and guests are invited to join our luncheon on the third Saturday of each month from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM in the Commons Room. We get acquainted or re-acquainted during a light catered lunch. Afterwards there’s a presentation or engaging facilitated discussions in breakout groups. It’s a great way to stay up to date with your women friends.

For more information, and to RSVP for the next meeting, please contact WOMEN@firstplymouthchurch.org.

All are welcome, from the newly-diagnosed to survivors for over 20 years. We meet in the Commons Room on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 11:30 AM. Bring your lunch and join us.

Men's Groups

Men’s Fellowship meets the second Saturday of each month at 8:00 AM for breakfast and fellowship. From 9:00 AM-10:00 AM women are welcome to join us for a lively presentation and discussion on a wide variety of topics.

First Plymouth men also do service projects, both within the church and in the wider community. We hang outside Christmas decorations, maintain and clean up the church exterior grounds and Kentucky Circle Senior Homes, perform Sanctuary set up, and barbecue at church functions. Funds collected at breakfasts are used for numerous service projects. A highlight of the Men’s Fellowship is the annual Men’s Road Trip – an extended weekend journey to a scenic, cultural, or historical area in Colorado or one of our neighboring states.

For more information, please contact MEN@firstplymouthchurch.org.

First Plymouth men and guests are welcome to join us for donuts and a lively discussion on topics like foreign affairs, economic policy, and politics. We meet Wednesdays at 8:30 AM in the Commons Room.
