First Plymouth CFCU will be in the greeting area before church, June 7, passing out orange ribbons for your nametag.
THE INSPIRATION FOR “WEAR ORANGE”
In 2013, Hadiya Pendleton, age 15, was killed by gun violence on a playground in Chicago, just a week after marching in President Obama’s Second Inaugural Parade. After her death, her friends and family asked others to honor her memory by wearing orange, the color hunters wear in the woods for safety, and to call attention to the fact that gun violence is still responsible for killing or wounding more than 130 people each day in the United States.
