“Death Café” at First Plymouth

A “Death Café” is part of a growing international movement that invites people to talk openly about death in order to live more fully. It is not a grief support group, counseling session, or lecture. It is simply a welcoming space for conversation. At a “Death Café”, participants sit in small groups and share thoughts, questions, experiences, fears, humor, and curiosity about death and dying. Some come because they are facing illness. Some come because they are caregivers. Some are simply curious. Many come because they realize that avoiding the topic does not make it easier.

There is no right way to participate. You may speak or simply listen. Everything shared is treated with respect and confidentiality.

Our hope at First Plymouth is to create Sacred Community around one of the most universal human experiences. When we talk honestly about end-of-life issues, we often discover clarity, courage, tenderness, and even surprising lightness.

This new endeavor is facilitated by Rev. Ellen King and will be held the third Thursday of each month in Room 210 at First Plymouth. All are Welcome!
